Part museum, part art project, The (Pop Up) National Queer Museum Of Australia asks whose stories get told and who goes unrecorded. It’s an incomplete museum as so much of our history was destroyed or hidden, but we invite you to look upon such sacred items as the costume one of Kylie’s backing dancers wore at Mardi Gras in 1994, or the commemorative ashtray from Peter Allen’s fundraiser performance to bring the Olympics to Melbourne, alongside works from queer artists that engage and comment on LGBTQIA+ history. Exit through the gift shop.
