Bendigo Pride Festival is proud to shine a spotlight on queer storytelling and local history with two special writers events at Bendigo Trades Hall on Wednesday 15 April.

DISABILITY PRIDE
4.30-5.30pm: Writers Workshop

First, join us for an inclusive writing workshop designed especially for queer, disabled writers, facilitated by Arty Owens.

This supportive and accessible session creates space to explore your voice, share your stories, and connect with others in the community—whether you’re just starting out or already putting pen to paper. Open to all ages.

QUEER GOLDFIELDS
6.30-8pm: Panel Discussion

Later, dive into a fascinating panel discussion exploring the rich and often overlooked world of queer Goldfields history.

Hear from writers Sam Elkin, Jill Blee and David Waldron as they unpack the stories, challenges, and triumphs of uncovering and documenting queer lives in our region’s past.
